Career & Experience

Over the years I have gotten to work in many different places and gained critical knowledge on how the IT infrastructure can effect all levels of a business and the people who use it. Take a look at all the work I have done and the experience I have gained through that time.

System Administrator

NEBCO, INC.

APRIL 2021 – PRESENT

I currently work at NEBCO, Inc. as a system administrator where my daily work includes managing over 500 workstations and 100 servers. I use tools like MECM (also known as SCCM), Azure, Citrix, Meraki, Teams/Sharepoint, and more. I work to provide our over 600+ users with the technology and resources they need to make work easier and more efficient.

I have completed several projects to increase security such as rolling out multi-factor authentication for our users and computers as well as migrate user data infrastructure to Microsoft 365 resources for easier and more flexible document access. I also use automation through tools and scripting to solve redundant problems and make work more efficient.

Bachelors Degree

Computer Science & Mathematics – Midland University

DECEMBER 2019

I began my college career in the fall of 2016 and choose the path for Computer Science and Math because of my passion for the field. I took classes to learn object-oriented programming using Java and Visual Basic as well as learning SQL and web design.

The idea of leveraging technology to advance business was another interest of mine which led me to learn about business intelligence and data analytics. I also took economics/business classes to learn how a company can value IT as an important addition to daily operations and functions.

I graduated in the fall of 2019 with high honors and had multiple job opportunities post-graduation. My time at Midland was a strong foundation for building my career in IT and fueling my passion for learning!

Tech Support Specialist

NEBCO, INC.

MAY 2019 – APRIL 2021

My first full-time job post-graduation was working on the IT Help Desk at NEBCO. My work began by building strong customer service skills to serve our users’ IT needs and solve their daily issues. I also spent a lot of my time learning and documenting knowledge base articles, infrastructure information, and building strong troubleshooting and problem-solving workflows.

I really built my experience supporting users with Office365 products, Windows workstations and laptops, mobile device management, and business-specific applications. I coordinated on-site trips for hardware deployments and was a key asset in our company’s Windows 7 to 10 migration.

Lab Tech Intern

Lutz Technologies

SUMMER 2018

My university helped me to secure an internship at an MSP in west Omaha where we served many companies in the Omaha and surrounding region with managed IT solutions. I was involved with many roles during my internship and got valuable experience for work in customer support, project management, and hardware support.

My main work was in their hardware lab where I would work tickets for user hardware problems such as PC hardware issues, new computer deployment, and system maintenance and upgrades. Along with the hardware support I got to work with the on-site team to travel to client companies and perform various work as needed and build my customer relation skills.

Tech Support Intern

Oakland-Craig Public Schools

AUG 2017 – MAY 2019

Not long after I started my education career at Midland, a friend of mine introduced me to an internship opportunity with Oakland-Craig Public Schools on the IT Support Staff. I worked with Gerald Brand, the IT Director, to support a 1:1 initiative with technology using devices such as iPads, Chromebooks, and MacBooks for students in K-12 as well as for faculty and staff.

I used tools such as GSuite to manage Google accounts for students as well as used Jamf Pro for iPad and Mac device management. Other work I did was daily support for student/teacher issues with technology and helped maintain the school website. One of my favorite projects while working there was the time I developed a custom software program to monitor the schools HVAC system in the winter time to enable alerting and system data management.

University IT Help Desk

Midland University

AUG 2016 – MAY 2018

I got the job at the University Help Desk when I talked with their staff on new student orientation day. The staff at Midland got me in hands-on work fast with work to support student devices and staff devices, classroom equipment, and more. I got involved in a lot of operations such as new computer deployments, structured cabling work, and even got to work on a project for a new eSports gaming arena!
